Mail Chimp Training

If you’re interested in learning how to put together branded communications and/or an e-zine, we have secured some funding for 3 Mail Chimp workshops, delivered by Darren McGinley. The Heart of the Glens Landscape Partnership Scheme is kindly sponsoring this training.

This will be practical hands-on training. The aim is to have your communication/e-zine template designed and ready to use by the end of the 3-hour workshop. You’ll need to bring along the following:

  • Your laptop
  • Your logos, images and some content
  • Your database/email list of contacts (in Excel for speed of upload)
  • Your phone for connecting the app

There will only be 4 businesses per workshop to enable Darren to provide support and assistance to everyone. There’s a choice of morning, afternoon and evening sessions.

Cost: Free to Antrim Glens Tourism members; £50 pp for non-members.

The dates, times and locations are as follows:

  • Mon 16 April, 6.30-9.30pm at Glendale B&B, Cushendall
  • Thurs 26 April, 12.30-3.30pm at The Pepper Mill, Cushendall
  • Thurs 3 May, 9.30am-12.30pm – venue TBC (depending on participant location)

Antrim Glens Tourism Meeting

Please come along earlier if possible at 6.00pm to visit the Local Artisan Trade Fair which is also on Monday from 6-9pm at the Marine Hotel so you can pop in and sample the fabulous products made locally before coming along to the meeting (free entry – not open to the public).

This is a collaboration between the award-winning Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market and the Heart of the Glens Landscape Partnership Scheme (Big Lottery Funded).

Come along and talk to local producers and makers, see some of the fantastic high-quality arts and crafts, and sample delicious foods being produced in our region—along the Causeway Coastal Route and inland.

Everyone on our new Visit Antrim Glens website should now have received a User Name and Password from our web developer, Flax Creative.

To learn how to manage, develop and improve your web page on the site including uploading photos, videos, ‘book now’ buttons and other links etc., please sign up for one of these two training workshops.

Joint Glens & Gobbins Tourism Cluster Meeting

Date: Monday 19 February

Venue: Upstairs at Joe’s, 23 Mill Street, Cushendall, BT44 0RR

AGT Annual General Meeting

We start the year with our Annual General Meeting which is kindly being hosted by Thyme and Co. in Ballycastle. The evening’s agenda includes:

  • Appointment of AGT Committee members
  • Review AGT progress & achievements in 2017
  • Set AGT Objectives for 2018

As we’re growing and developing as an association, we urgently need to expand the Committee. We are therefore seeking nominations for the following officers, plus 3 or 4 other Committee members:

Digital Media Training

Developing your online marketing to help grow your business

Date:   Friday 24 November

Time:   1.00am – 4.00pm

Venue: Council Boardroom, Sheskburn House, Ballycastle

Cost:      FREE*

This practical workshop will help you identify your target market and which social media tools are best to help you reach your potential customers, increase visitors to your website and generate more business through online marketing.  You will also learn how to improve your marketing reach via email marketing, how tools like Google Analytics can help you and whether you should be using social media tools like Twitter and Instagramme.

Trainer: Darren McGinley, North Coast Digital Media

Darren McGinley is a seasoned digital marketer with over 20 years’ experience within the advertising, digital marketing and education sectors.  Darren runs his own digital consultancy and also lectures on interactive digital media.  He specialises in helping entrepreneurs build their brand online, develop a digital presence to increase sales and enhance their social media expertise through a combination of training, workshops and consultancy.

The meeting is kindly being hosted by Raceview Mill , Broughshane and will include the opportunity to find out more about this exciting commercial hub and visitor experience located on the site of an ex-textile mill in Broughshane.  There will be an update on new tourism industry opportunities and initiatives from Tourism NI and both Causeway Coast and Glens and Mid and East Antrim Borough Councils, plus training opportunities at NRC and an insight into how aerial photography can help promote your business.

Ghosts in the Glens Storytelling Festival 19-22 October 2017

Antrim Glens Tourism is hosting for the fifth year a 4-day community storytelling festival celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Glens of Antrim. The festival will include storytellers and musicians from both within and outside the local area and will comprise a programme of events, performances and sessions designed to appeal to children, young people and adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds and interests.

The Festival will take place in a range of different community locations including Cushendall, Cushendun, Glenariffe, Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.
